The Print: All images for sale are gelatin silver prints created by the photographer. Each photograph is printed from the original 4x5 negative on high quality fiber-based photographic paper using traditional wet darkroom techniques. The gelatin silver print was one of the original methods for producing black-and-white photographs before the onset of digital photography. In the opinion of the photographer, it is not necessarily a better or worse way of producing the image, but simply one of several available, and the one preferred. Each print is individually produced using an enlarger and various controls to influence the amount of light falling on specific areas of the photographic paper. Most of these “controls” involve using the hands or pieces of cardboard to block or concentrate the light. The print is finally toned in a selenium solution for longevity and a slight change in tonal color. Size & Editions: All images are printed on 11”x14” paper and matted to 16”x20” using archival materials. Editions are limited to 150 of each image, and each print is signed by the photographer. Price: The cost per print is currently $150 and includes shipping to locations in the United States. For shipping to locations outside the United States, please contact me for shipping information.
